1. Who We Are

ZustResume ("we", "us", "our") is an online resume builder operated from India. We are committed to protecting your personal data in accordance with applicable Indian data protection laws. Our contact email is hello@zustresume.com.

2. Data We Collect

Account data

When you register, we collect your name, email address, and (for OAuth) a unique provider ID. Passwords are stored as secure bcrypt hashes.

Resume content

Resume data you enter (work experience, education, skills, etc.) is stored in your browser's local storage and, when saved, in our database associated with your account.

Payment data

We store the Razorpay order ID, payment status, and amount. We do NOT store card numbers, UPI IDs, or any payment credentials — those are handled entirely by Razorpay.

Usage data

Standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited, timestamps) may be collected for security and performance monitoring.

3. How We Use Your Data

To provide and improve our resume-building service.
To process payments and issue transaction confirmations.
To respond to your support requests.
To detect and prevent fraud or abuse.
To send transactional emails (payment receipts, order updates).

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third-party advertisers or marketing platforms.

4. Third-Party Services

Razorpay: Payment processing. See Razorpay's Privacy Policy.
Google / GitHub / LinkedIn (OAuth): Optional social login providers. We only receive your name, email, and provider ID — no private profile data.
Google Fonts: Fonts are loaded from Google's CDN for PDF rendering.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored in AWS DynamoDB with encryption at rest. Access is restricted to authenticated requests. JWT tokens expire and must be refreshed. We implement industry-standard security practices but cannot guarantee absolute security of data transmitted over the internet.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you.
Request correction of inaccurate data.
Request deletion of your account and associated data.
Withdraw consent for data processing where consent is the legal basis.

7. Cookies

ZustResume uses browser local storage (not traditional cookies) to persist your resume data, authentication token, and preferences between sessions. We do not use tracking cookies or advertising cookies.

8. Data Retention

We retain account data for as long as your account is active. Payment records are retained for 7 years as required by Indian financial regulations. You may request account deletion at any time; deleted accounts are purged within 30 days.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
